About Us

Starting out wrapping browbands with cling film to keep the ribbon clean, Ribbons Browbands has evolved out of years of frustration at constantly having to replace worn & dirty ribbon after just a few rides.  During those years there were many changes made to the covers in an attempt to prolong the time between ribbon changes and in 2010, a fully enclosed plastic cover was finally realised.

Since then, Ribbons Browbands have been well and truly tested by family and members of our Pony Club.  They were worn by our Mounted Games team at the 2012 and 2013 PCANSW State Championships where the team won the Best Presented award both years – and Ribbons Browbands are perfect for high-energy activities like Mounted Games (as well as sporting, showjumping, eventing, polocrosse etc) because sweat and dirty is simply swiped off with a damp cloth.

The covers have also allowed the move away from traditional sharks-tooth and checker ribbon designs permitting the full design of any printed ribbon to be on display.  They also allow the use of all types of rhinestones and embellishments without the risk of them dropping off and being lost. 

Ribbons Browbands has been a hobby for many years with bands handmade at home for family and friends in between work and family commitments.  Now with increasing interest from others, we're offering them on a made to order basis.  Our standard designs are listed on this site and will be updated from time to time so if you do not see anything that suits right now,  simply check back again soon.
